The Road Crew: the mythic, motley bunch of people who are arguably the hardest working crowd behind the scenes; making sure the wheels of the machine we know as rock stay well-greased and continue to roll no matter what. Gear is loaded onto stage, guitars are tuned, drums are assembled, pristine live sound is delivered and light shows of epic proportions are executed - all to enable the band to perform at the top of their game.

Such is the power of the Road Crew that artists have sung their praises, literally. Tom Petty crooned of his roadie named Bart, while Motörhead immortalised the hedonistic lifestyles of their men on the road in the anthem “We are the road crew”. As we introduce the newest In Flames limited Gin, The Crew Batch, we must now ask the question, ‘Has anyone gone as far as In Flames to honour their road crew?’

In Flames Signature Craft Gin No. 13: The Crew Batch; Lingonberry & Cranberry sees the innovative and acclaimed series of craft gin from In Flames further push the envelope in terms of new, exciting flavours. This new, limited batch follows multiple successful releases signed by the band members and a special bottling for the band’s sold out festival, “Borgholm Brinner” in July.

The Crew Batch takes on the distinctly Swedish flavour of lingonberry and blends with the distinctive cranberry notes to create a new, original take on modern craft gin. Refreshing and, mixed with the juniper of the gin, an absolute perfect match for a well-made tonic.
In Flames singer, Anders Fridén, says:
“We know how to create our way of heavy metal, but without some (or a lot of....) help we wouldn't survive many days on the road. This is our dedication to our friends, our family: The hardworking people of the In flames crew.

Yvonne Wener, business manager at Brands for Fans explains:
“It’s been an incredible journey in the world of flavours together with In Flames. From an idea to launching five batches of world-class gin in one year's time, it's truly amazing. The fact that they choose to pay tribute to their crew with the fifth and final batch of 2018 shows warmth, heart, class and style. I would also like to take the opportunity to say thanks to the people without whom Brands For Fans couldn’t pull this off; of course all the guys in In Flames, but an extra big thank you to Anders Fridén.

Then we have Patrick Holmqvist at Nils Oscar, Daniel Henriksson and Karin Jonsson and all the staff at Götene VSF, Jerker Josefsson / master of artwork and last but not least David Mortimer-Hawkins / master of letters and words. TNX!”

About In Flames Signature Craft Gin No. 13: The Crew Batch;
Lingonberry & Cranberry: The bass notes and classic gin character from the juniper, cilantro, lemon peel, cinnamon, cardamom and elderberries have been complemented in this edition with the Swedish woods, by ways of lingon berry. The lingon-berries have been macerated together with cranberries during a couple of warm, late summer days before being distilled and added to the gin. One gets the classic notes of a well-balanced gin on the nose, that harmonises with the subtle sweetness of the lingon-berries.

About In Flames
Sweden’s leading metal band has never stopped moving forward during the more than 20 years they’ve been performing. The melodic death metal of the band’s early days has since evolved into a unique expression, manifested in 12 albums like A Sense of Purpose, Sounds of a Playground Fading, Siren Charms and their latest release, Battles, recorded in Los Angeles with multi Grammy nominated producer, Howard Benson. In Flames have toured worldwide with acts such as Metallica, Judas Priest and Avenged Sevenfold, and have received Grammis and P3 Guld awards, as well as the Swedish Governments Export prize.

Over the past year, they’ve Co-Headlined arenas across Europe and the UK with American band, Five Finger Death Punch, successfully curated their own two-day festival in the Borgholm Castle, “Borgholm Brinner” and headlined major EU festivals such as Wacken and Poland Woodstock. The band will finish out 2018 with a 10-day tour in Mexico supporting the legendary Deep Purple, followed by a handful of US dates with Breaking Benjamin and Five Finger Death Punch in amphitheatres. And of course, the road crew will be joining them for every stop on the way.
