Metal rebels celebrates 20th anniversary with unique Champagne It's been 20 years since Hammerfall's debut Glory to the Brave exploded on the international metal scene. This will of course be celebrated – with a drink of absolute highest quality. The Swedish kings of metal launch a Champagne that is as timeless and classic as their music.

The Swedish-French Champagne House Hatt et Söner has never hesitated to venture out on unexplored land. Like Hammerfall, they have chosen to go their own way without worrying about what is considered trendy. Therefore, it came natural that the collaboration fell on Hatt et Söner, explains Hammerfall's singer Joacim Cans. – We are all rebels, but in different ways. Hammerfall were the rebels of hard rock during the first era and now they are doing the same in regards of producing champagne. I am very impressed that they dare to be rebels in a district whose industry is governed by rocky rules. Although Kristofer Ruscon, who owns Hatt et Söner, follow all the rules, he also dares to question them and create his own trends. Hammerfall and Hatt et Söner are simply two kinds of rebels that have met and created something good together.

After several visits to Hatt et Söner in Champagne, the singer has now returned with a unique drink that will be released in a limited edition of 1,900 bottles. The bubbles will without a doubt set metal hearts on fire. And there are actually quite a few similarities between one of Swedish music´s biggest exports and the noblest of drinks. As Joacim says about the art of sabrage: "what can be more metal than opening a bottle with a sword?" If Hammerfall is a band that stands out in the world of metal, Champagne has the same position when it comes to sparkling wine. It's all about that special ability to always give a little extra. – The older you get, the more important it gets with quality, and not least when it comes to alcoholic beverages.
You start looking for the more luxurious elements of life. To me, it feels great to produce something that I feel so excited about. It's important that it is a beverage that we can really stand behind and its exclusiveness makes it extra special, he says enthusiastically.

Just like Hammerfall's music, the drink, launched in collaboration with Brands For Fans, is designed to last. Joacim Cans recommends that you buy multiple bottles. One to drink now and a few more to save for later. Like really good metal, the bottle will not get bad over time, as long as it is kept properly. – This Champagne is of absolute highest quality, 100% Chardonnay, Single Parcel from Premier Cru Mont Vergon from 2008, which is considered to be one of the best years of all time. Let it age 15-20 years and you will have the absolute greatest taste experience, he says, adding that both music and champagne are about enjoying life. – Life is to short to drink things that do not taste fantastic. One thing is for sure: HammerFall - Templar Cuvee Joacim Cans 2008 will be loved just as much by Hammerfall's audiences as by Champagne enthusiasts.

With the HammerFall Legacy of Kings Single Malt Scotch Whisky, the band had a hit with fans of both metal and world-class whiskies. With its’ peaty character it became a consumer and press-favourite and sold out faster than the double bass drums of Hector’s Hymn.

Working with the whisky whet their appetite and to celebrate the 18 years since the debut album ”Glory to the Brave” was released, the band decided to launch their second whisky: HammerFall Imperial. This time it’s an 18 year old Speyside-whisky that’s been selected and released in a strictly limited edition. Looking at the finite amount of older whisky available internationally, it’s a sensational feat to find casks of HammerFall Imperial 18YO quality.

Imperial has a great balance between sherry and vanilla notes with both nuttiness and raisin sweetness and a long, pleasant after-taste. With 18 years in cask, it’s an incredibly well balanced, elegant and smooth whisky that the world-leading metal band have chosen.

“If you buy anything with the HammerFall brand, you should be certain it’s an exclusive product”, Joacim Cans, HammerFall vocalist, explains. “If a whisky isn’t to our liking, it doesn’t matter how old it may be or where it’s from. All that matters is that we like the product and can endorse it. As Legacy of Kings was so multi-faceted and complex in it’s flavour profile, we wanted an older, more elegant whisky this time. You can’t really compare the products as they play in different series, but in the same division: the top!”

Sari Wilholm of Brands For Fans adds: “Legacy of Kings became a huge success for both HammerFall and us, so it was obvious that we wanted to continue our collaboration. HammerFall Imperial 18 YO really is a lucky strike where age, flavour, character and elegance all meld together. It’s a truly exclusive whisky we’re releasing and I’m certain that the fans will love it when they get to try it. It’s always a pleasure working with dedicated artists with a huge interest in these things, we believe that shines through in the whisky the band have put their name to.”

HammerFall Imperial 18 YO is released October 1st in a strictly limited edition of 1 200 bottles and the price is 999 SEK.
