About Motörhead
Motörhead, founded by bassist Lemmy Kilminster, were one of the predecessors to “The New Wave of British Heavy Metal”, or… fuck it. All you need to about Motörhead is that they are the loudest, hardest band the world has ever seen. A hundred years from now, when kids ask their parents “mummy, daddy, what is rock ‘n roll?”, the parents will proudly answer “Motörhead… THAT’S rock.” Apart from destroying both decibel volume records and uncountable hotel rooms, Motörhead have also made some of the most renowned albums in the history of rock. Say “Overkill” or “Ace of Spades” and any fan of rock will get a dreamy look.

Motörhead have quite simply laid the foundation on which all modern guitar driven music is built upon. How did these greasy, loud musketeers redefine music history? It would be far too simple to claim they mixed punk and heavy metal. When the debut album “Motörhead” was released it would still be a few years before other British hard rock bands started making waves, and the Sex Pistols had only just started screaming about Anarchy in the UK. You see, Motörhead operate in their own time zone, their own definition, and their own category where Motörhead sound like Motörhead. And in that time zone you either love what you hear or switch channels - there is no middle-route.

The classic albums were lined up like a pearl necklace of attitude and total run-you-over approach; Overkill, Bomber, Ace of Spades, Iron Fist, Orgasmatron and the classic live-album No Sleep ‘til Hammersmith are albums that will live forever in rock music. Each album has been followed by a long tour. No album? No problem - Motörhead will tour anyway. It’s an old-school way without bullshit or short-cuts: you write music, record it and play live as much as possible. Then you do it again. And again. (And, in the case of Motörhead, you do it bloody loud as well.) When not touring or recording, Motörhead managed to become pioneers in crossing music with drinks. With beers (Bastards Lager), Motörhead Shiraz, Rosé, vodka and now Motörhead Whisky, they have taken their in-your-face attitude to a world that often has been scared to death for change - even if Motörhead not only change it, but drive a bulldozer over it. Band members may have come and gone over the years, but Lemmy Kilminster has remained.

The last 22 years have been stable, where Lemmy has been flanked by guitarist Phil Campbell and swede Mickey Dee behind the drums. Together, they can now look back at 40 years of road-wearage, worn down ear-drums and the occasional classic track. Few bands survive a decade, but in another 40 years, you will probably see a festival backdrop with the legendary mascot “Snaggletooth” and Motörheads immortal mantra: Everything Louder than Everything Else. It’s never been as true as now.

About Motörhead Whisky
Batch one of Motörhead whisky is a limited edition Swedish Single Malt Whisky with an oaky and slightly fruity character, characterized by ageing five years in new American oak barrels, where parts of the whiskey has got a final touch from oloroso oak barrels the last six months. Alcohol strength is 40% and the whisky is cool filtered, so no cloudiness should occur in the bottle or the glass, if the whisky is served at a lower temperature. In summary this becomes an enjoyable, easy to drink and easy oaky and spicy Swedish Single Malt Whisky.

Angela D'Orazio, Master Blender / CNO, Chief Nose Officer explains: "These wonderful oakbarrels! I often come across fine barrels of whisky down in the mine, and here we have a bunch of great new American oak barrels that have matured a full five years. We talked about making a Swedish Malt Whisky with taste influences from Bourbon to the guys, - and there it was only waiting for us. For a little touch of something more, we added a small portion of whisky for six months ending on Oloroso oakbarrels."
